What If...

What if your clients received more than just a PDF?
What if they opened their doorstep to find a beautifully curated box of design samples, custom printed materials, and a handwritten note that made them feel like they were your only client?

That’s what the Atelier Box™ does.

For clients, it’s an elevated experience they didn’t even know was missing.

For designers, it’s a profitable, personalized service that allows you to finally position your design services as luxury, not a bargain-bin offering.

Why I Created The Atelier Box™

I began my design career over 10 years ago in full-service design and have been practicing virtual design long before it was the industry norm. I loved the freedom that I had through my virtual design services so much that my business shifted almost entirely to remote design — but I noticed the same problem everywhere:

Virtual design was treated as a cheap add-on, with packages sold for the low hundreds. While great for upselling, few designers saw it as sustainable or profitable. For full-service projects, designers are always looking for ways to elevate the experience with a more personalized touch.

I knew something was missing. Clients crave the tactile, emotional connection of design — touching fabrics, holding materials, flipping through a book of drawings. Designers want to deliver luxury virtually, but the tools didn’t exist and they are tired of lugging around a cart full of samples, fumbling through them during client presentations.

So I created The Atelier Box™:

A tactile design experience that includes curated samples, a custom-printed design book, and white-glove delivery. Perfect for mid-project touchpoints and post-project wrap-ups whether full-service or virtual. It elevates the design into something truly luxurious while also allowing me the flexibility to curate my in-person client interactions. The result was more profitable projects, freedom to design the way I wanted, and flexibility in my schedule to do things I love like volunteering and traveling; now into what I call: Luxury Remote Design. Design anywhere, anytime.

How The Atelier Box™ Elevates Interior Design

Most designers and consumers think of virtual design as “quick and cheap” and full-service design can sometimes feel clunky and disorganized. The Atelier Box™ changes the narrative:

  • It creates a physical, tactile connection between you and your client.

  • It transforms virtual design into a high-touch service you can confidently price as luxury.

  • It elevates full-service design into a thoughtfully curated experience clients remember.

  • It leaves your clients with a keepsake that reminds them of your value long after the project ends.

FAQ'S

1. How does the pilot program work?
Continue your design projects as usual. When you’re ready to present your material selections to your clients, simply contact us to begin the intake process. We’ll ask for some of your deliverables and any special notes you’d like to communicate to your client — such as floor plans, elevations, mood boards, renderings, and a list of samples you’d like included in your Atelier Box™. You’re welcome to send Material Bank samples and your client presentation in PDF format as well. From there, we curate, design, and assemble the Atelier Box™ into a seamless, white-glove presentation for your client.

2. What’s included in the box?

Each Atelier Box™ is tailored to your client’s project and may include:

  • Fabric and upholstery swatches

  • Wallpaper and paint samples

  • Hardware and finish samples (metal, wood, stone, etc.)

  • Curated drapery or textile selections

  • Printed design book (softcover or hardcover) with your project drawings, renderings, and styling notes

  • A personalized handwritten note

Because the box has limited dimensions, we recommend sending the most important samples needed to solidify design decisions, or only the final approved selections for clients receiving a Project Closeout Atelier Box™. Recommended maximum sample size is 8x8. Actual visuals of the box will be provided for the designers participating in the Designer Pilot Program.

Can I pass the cost to my clients?
Yes. Designers may choose to include the Atelier Box™ fee in their design service proposal or project invoice. This not only covers the cost but also elevates the perceived value of your virtual or hybrid design services. Instead of clients questioning the worth of a PDF, they receive a tangible, luxury product that feels like a keepsake. The Atelier Box™ transforms your service from a one-off deliverable into an elevated experience that justifies premium pricing.

How long does it take to receive the box?
Turnaround depends on how quickly we receive your project materials and samples. We source from trusted industry partners like Material Bank, showrooms, or directly from your firm. Once all samples are in hand, we curate and assemble your Atelier Box™. For faster turnaround, designers may coordinate overnight shipping of custom swatches or courier delivery. Typically, once materials are received, your client’s Atelier Box™ can be completed and shipped within 7–10 business days.

How is the box delivered to my client?
At client intake and purchase, you’ll provide the preferred delivery address — whether it’s your client’s home or your design studio. Each Atelier Box™ is shipped via courier service (or hand delivered by The Prototype Team) to ensure samples remain intact and presentation-ready. This method enhances the elevated, white-glove experience your clients are accustomed to and deserve.

Can I order multiple boxes?
Yes. You may order multiple Atelier Boxes™ for different projects, or even for the same project (for example, one mid-project decision box and one post-project closeout box). Each box is custom curated, so pricing will follow the format selected ($490 Moodboard, $550 Softcover, $600 Hardcover). Ordering more than one ensures your clients receive a consistent, elevated experience at every stage of their project.

How many samples can fit in the box?
Each Atelier Box™ is designed with a protective cushion layer to preserve the integrity of your samples. The box accommodates up to a 2-inch thick bundle and about 1 row of 3 (8x8) samples with the second row of smaller 4x4 samples, which is typically ideal for finish selections across multiple room types in a single project.

For projects with a large variety of finishes — such as whole-home designs or projects spanning multiple areas — multiple boxes may be recommended. These can be purchased at a discounted rate. In special cases, larger box sizes may be arranged depending on the scale and needs of your project.

What happens if my client changes their mind and wants to see more samples?
The Atelier Box™ is curated to include the most essential samples your client needs to finalize their selections. If your client requests additional options beyond what was provided in the original box, an additional Atelier Box™ may be ordered. Repeat orders for the same project are available at a discounted rate, ensuring flexibility while maintaining the elevated experience.

Can the box be customized to align with my firm’s branding?
Yes — within select options. At this time, the Atelier Box™ offers foam inserts in gray or black, and the exterior box is available in black or white (matte or glossy finish). You may also choose the ribbon color to best align with your firm’s branding. While the core presentation is intentionally minimal and elevated to maintain the Atelier Box™ aesthetic, these details provide a level of customization so your client’s experience feels unique and consistent with your brand.
